 What is Sterilization Monitoring Certification:

Sterilization Monitoring Certification is the process of evaluating a sterilization cycle by rendering highly resistant bacterial spores biologically inert. It is a  method of verifying sterilizer performance through the use of a calibrated population of bacterial spores (on a spore strip) that are highly resistant to the mode of  sterilization being monitored. The spore strips are subjected to a sterilization cycle, transferred to a growth media, incubated, and reviewed for spore survival,  no survival or a negative test indicated that the sterilizer is working properly whereas survival or a positive test indicates sterilization failure.
